JKEDI Hosts Startup Boot Camp at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu
Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu organized an inspiring startup boot camp in collaboration with The Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) of the college under the aegis of IQAC to foster entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among students.
Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Sh. Chand Kishore (JKAS) Joint Director EDI was the Guest of Honour, and Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, was Special Guest on the occasion, who also gave the formal welcome address.
The programme began with traditional lighting of the lamp. Mr. Rajesh Kotwal, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Jammu presented opening remarks and agenda overview of the event. Mr. Arush Mahajan, Founder, Elysium Net Solutions shared his success story with the students and advised them on their entrepreneurial journey. Ms. Shivani Sharma, Assistant Faculty, JKEDI gave a talk on J&K Startup policy, while Mr. Zahid Ali Dar, Project Manager JKEDI conducted an ideation workshop for the students.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce said that this boot camp provided students with a platform to put their creativity into action and learn from experienced mentors. He added that the college was proud to provide a platform to students to exhibit their initiative and drive.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu said that Entrepreneurship was a powerful catalyst for academic excellence and societal impact and today’s participation reflects a strong innovation mindset among the students.
A large number of students participated in the boot camp, presenting their creative startup ideas to a panel of experts. The jury provided valuable feedback to students, helping them refine their concepts and enhance their business acumen. Out of all the ideas presented, 11 were shortlisted for the next level of the competition, namely Vinay Kumar, Ragvendra Khujaria, Vidhur Gandotra, Akhil Gupta, Mehvish Noor, Shivansh Gupta, Satvik Kurchi & Group, Satvik Garg, Janvi, Merisha Rajput and Sahil Bhan. Jury panel for the boot camp consisted of Dr. Ridhi Sharma, Prof. Shaji Khan, Mr. Rajesh Kotwal and Mr. Zahid Ali Dar.
The program was coordinated by Prof. Rekha Gupta, Prof. Monika Mahajan, Prof. Sanjeev Verma and Dr. Suresh Sadotra, while the programme was compered by Dr. Fayza.
Among those present on the occasion included Dr. Mohd. Azam, Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, Dr. Deepak Pathania and others.
