Commerce College Jammu Organises Swachhta Abhiyan To Observe Seva Parv
Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, organised Swachhta Abhiyan as a part of series of activities to observe Sewa Parv, under the patronage of the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajinder Singh. The program was organised by the Cultural and Literary Committee in collaboration with the Anti-Tobacco cell, NSS and NCC units of the college.
As part of the program, a cleanliness drive was organized in the college in which students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Addressing the students on the occasion, Principal Dr. Rajinder Singh urged them to imbibe the true essence of Seva in their daily lives. He emphasized that social service should not be confined to events alone but should be practiced as a daily habit such as helping old persons cross the road, extending support to the needy etc. These small acts of kindness are simple but powerful deeds that can bring about a positive change in society.
The Principal also praised the efforts of the organizers and commended the enthusiastic participation of students, noting that such initiatives instill in youth the values of service, leadership, discipline, and social responsibility. The program also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth, cleanliness, and selfless service.
The event concluded successfully under the guidance of Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, Prof. Monika Mahajan, Dr. Madhu Bala, and Dr. Deepak Pathania, with the collective participation of faculty and students. Among those present on the occasion included Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, Prof. Shaji Khan and others.
